Artist's Comments

This pony was a commission for Equuscallabus. It is based upon the painting by Henri Rousseau (I've included the original for reference). I have never used as many colors of hair on a pony as I did on this one (12!). I had never attempted a Rousseau before, and had never seen this piece prior to her commission. Once I saw the image, however, I felt inspired and accepted the challenge readily. : ) She took me forever and a day to complete, but I love the way she turned out. I hope you like her as well! Thanks for looking!
